My Immortal Life - One Piece - Chapter 51

Loud cracks can be heard as everyone on the Marineford is struggling to maintain their balance during Whitebeard great attack with his devil fruit power. The buildings were crumbling around as people scramble to be out of danger reach.

“Marineford is in danger!” One of the Marine shouted as he looks on in disbelief at the great power Whitebeard hold.

“Stop Whitebeard!”

“He really plans to destroy the whole island!”

Then the quakes stop as every Whitebeard crews and alliance stare on to their beloved father and captain.

“Old Man! I don’t want to leave you behind!”

“Let’s go back together!” His crew quiver out. Whitebeard then straighten up with broad shoulder as he glances over to them.

“Are you disobeying your captain’s orders?! Get going, you imbeciles!” He growled out.

“Whitebeard!” Tears were shed as no one could turn their feet around to retreat like he ordered.

“Now! Shoot Whitebeard! He’s nearly dead!” The marine shouted as they all started shooting at him. Whitebeard return his focus toward them and peer down at them as they were annoying buzzing insects. He raised his staff and struck down to the ground, causing the wind to blow them away.

“Old man!”

“Hurry! We have to do as he said!” one crew said to another as they were dragging him away from their beloved captain.

“Can you really abandon the Old Man here alone?!” One questioned.

“Yeah, that’s right!”

“You idiot! None of us like this!”

“Then… if we stuck around and got killed here, we’d be spitting in the face of the Old Man, who came here prepared to die! Don’t you understand that?!”

“Old Man…”

Slowly, the Whitebeard crew manage to start running away as tears were streaming down their faces. Many dragging their crew out of their trance and pulling toward safety of their ships.  

“Get ready to cast off!”

“Ace!” Ace stood there as he stare at the back of Whitebeard Jolly roger. Evolet and Luffy stopped shortly behind him. Evolet was going to grabbed him but Luffy stopped her. Evolet look back to Luffy as they had a brief mental conversation.

‘Give him a moment.’ Luffy mentally asked. Evolet nodded in understanding as she waited for him.

“We’re setting sail! Over here! Hurry aboard!” Someone voice echoed out into the battlefield.

“Hurry! We got to get everyone out of here!”

“We’ve got to get everyone left and return to the New World!”

“Don’t let the pirate escape! Shoot down as many as you can!” The soldiers shouted.

“Your opponent is me and only me!” Whitebeard shouted as he struck down again.

“Straw-Hat-boy! Demo-Dragoness! What are vyou standing around for?!” Ivankov shouted with great urgency.

“Ace, let’s go! The old-timer made his choice!” Luffy ushered. Evolet stare on as she waited for Ace to say something to his only father. Ace sigh as he straightens up.

“I know. I won’t waste his efforts.” Ace said lowly as he glared at the soldiers surrounding him, ready to attack. Ace clench his fist as the flame burst out of his hand and attack the marines that was going to attack him.

“Get out of the way, all of you!” Ace growled as he burned them away.  The two of them was engulfed flames safety. Whitebeard pants as he glances behind him to see Ace bowing down to him in extreme gratitude to Whitebeard. Then the flames turned blue as they had a moment between a father and son.

“There’s no need for words… Just answer one question for me, Ace… Was I a good father?” Whitebeard said slow and but stern to him. Ace look up before looking down, struggling to keep his tears at bay.

“Of course, you were!” Ace choked out. Whitebeard eyes soften as shift to a smile. He was letting go a breath of relief as he smiles toward to his son he is sacrificing his life for. Then he let out a booming laugh, glad to hear what Whitebeard needed to hear from Ace. Ace stood up as Evolet walked through his flames as the minor burns healed a bit slower than usual.

“We have to go, now!” Evolet ordered. Ace nodded as he started running. Evolet glance over to Whitebeard and smile before running after them.

“Ace-san! Luffy-kun! Run forward! They’re aiming at you two!” Jinbei shouted behind them as they were getting closer to the ship. “The Old Man is hoping as many survivors as possible!”

“We’ve stolen the warship! Hurry get on board!”

“Do you really think I’ll let you escape?” Evolet sharp ears hear his threat as she ready her guns.

“Jinbei! If I get hold up, you protect them with your life got it!” Evolet order the blue fishman as she attack the marines with her pistol and guns that she picked up along the way. She slow down behind them as she peers around, searching for that man who made that threat.

“Evolet!” Luffy shouted as he slowed down a bit.

“Don’t stop! No matter what! Get your asses to the sea and escape! I will find you if we get separated! I won’t break Whitebeard promise!” Evolet shouted as she shoves them forward and they continued running their hardest to the ships. Screams can be heard from behind them as Ace grit his teeth as he struggles not to turn around and help his fellow comrades.

“You two! Keep running and don’t stop!” Jinbei commanded as they continued running.

“So, you think you can free Fire Fist Ace and simply retreat in safety? What a bunch of imbeciles you Whitebeard Pirates are!” Admiral Sakazuki mocked them.

“What the?”

“He’s just trying to provoke us! It’s obvious he wants us to stop!”

“Ace, you better keep running and just ignored that manipulate bastard.” Evolet shouted as she continued running behind them.

“Well, I suppose it’s no surprise, your captain being who he is. After all, Whitebeard is nothing but a loser from a dead era!” Admiral Sakazuki continued. That struck a core with Ace as he stopped dead in his track and turned to glared at him.

“Ace! We got to keep running!” One of the crew shouted as he tries to pull him away.

“A loser?!” Ace asked in a dark tone as flames started to burst from his fist. “Take back what you just said!”

“Don’t stop! Just let him blabber on!” One tries to grabbed his arm but Ace just shoved him away.

“He bad-mouthed the Old Man!”

“Take it back? I have absolutely no intention of doing so. Why would I? Your father, Gold Roger, conquered the entire Grand Line. He gave his life to open the door on the new era, the Great Age of Pirates. A Navy man like me probably shouldn’t say this, but that man truly deserved the title of “Pirate King”. What is Whitebeard, when compared to that? I mean, did he even have the guts to fight against Roger? All he’s ever done is hide in some safe corner of the world and keep himself out of trouble, right? These days, some fools may claim Whitebeard’s name alone upholds peace on various islands. But as far as I’m concerned, he just intimidates the small-fry and believes himself a hero for it. Ridiculous! Roger maintained his honor as long as he lived, and even dead, his fellow pirates hailed him as a king. In other words, Whitebeard is an eternal loser, who will never surpass Roger! That is all he is. Everything I’ve said is the truth.” The admiral smirked.  Then three gun shots were fire through the Admiral head. Flames and smoke were in the holes before the admirals manage to heal this wounds with his magma power.

“Don’t you ever shut up! All you do is yack, yack, yack like a little annoying chihuaua. All bark but no bite.” Evolet growled as her eyes shifted back to her yellow dragon eyes.

“Ace!” Evolet growled as she moved between him and Ace. “Don’t make me knock you out and have Luffy carry you out of this battlefield. I’ll take care of him and defend Old Man honor. And if you stop again I will kick your freckly ass all the way to the sea.” Evolet glared at Ace as the two of them refuse to stand down.

“Now that I think about it, he is really a pitiful of a man. Making all his underlings call him their ‘Old Man’ or ‘Father’ or whatever… and sailing the seas playing house.”

“Stop it.” Ace said as he walked forward.

“Ace!” Evolet growled as she faces toward him as she pushes him back. His flames burned her hand but she didn’t show any pain.

“He reigned the seas for decades, yet he never became a king or gained anything. He got himself stabbed because one of those foolish ‘sons’ of his believed every word I said, and now he’ll die to protect that same fool. Truly an empty existence.”

“Cut it out!” Ace growled as his flames grow bigger as he struggles to get past Evolet.

“Don’t you ever shut you mouth your annoying chihuaua! Will someone hand me a bazooka so I can blow his stupid smirk off of his face!” Evolet growled as she struggles to push Ace back, ignoring a burst of pain of the burns.

“Don’t fall for it, Ace! Turn back!” One of Whitebeard commander shouted to him.

“The Old Man… gave us a place where we belonged! What do you know about the Old Man’s greatness?!” Ace growled.

“If man does not live righteously, he does not deserve to live at all! You rogue pirates don’t deserve a ‘place to belong’!”

“Cut it out!” Ace growled.

“Whitebeard will die a loser! A fitting end for a little fish in a big pond!” Then all the sudden, the Admiral was flying backward as he skidded to a stopped. He wipes away the blood from his cheeks as three claw mark was made as he glared at the person who manage to make him bleed. Evolet was standing in between them with her black arm and claws coming out of her hand. Her teeth were bare as faint scales start to show on her smooth skins as her yellow eyes stare him down.

“In all my years being trapped here in my own prison, I’ve never met a man who has shine so many lights in this dark and cruel world. He has change and saved more lives than you could ever do in your lifetime. He even saved my Godson life more time than I could ever repay him for. He is a man who never die like the great king himself. And if you utter one more foul word about my godson, his Old Man or ANYONE that I care about, I’m going to place a muffler on you to stop your assessed barking! Now fight me!” Evolet shouted.  Everyone stare at her in shock as a small woman like her going to fight one of the Admiral.

“Don’t do it!”

“It’s suicided!”

“You’ll die for sure!” Evolet turn sharply behind her and snapped her sharp teeth at them.

“I don’t care if Ace burn you to death! Get him and Luffy as far away from here!” Evolet barked out as she turns to Ace.

“And if you stopped again, I will knock you out. I will not let anyone lives be in anymore danger than they are already in. Now take Luffy and get the hell out of this hell hole!” Evolet said lowly. Ace shivered at her threat. He felt it once when he almost burned her hat in the fire. He gritted his teeth as he manages to turn around and started running toward his crew and his brother.

“So, you are a coward, Fire Fist Ac- “Admiral Sakazuki was interrupted again by another punch to the guts. His magma has no effect to her coat haki.

“If you must pick on anyone, picked on me… unless you feel intimidated in fighting this tiny ass woman as myself?” She smirks. The admiral frowned a bit as his arm shifted to his magma power.

“Low life of a pirate such as you won’t have any mercy because of your gender.” He said as he raised to punched her. Her color coated haki managed to stopped his attack. The two of the fight for dominance as the others from both side were in shocked to see someone stopping his deadly heated punch.

“Let’s go you two! Time are wasting!” Jinbei shouted as he shoves Ace and Luffy ahead of them.

“I will not have those lowlife escapes!” Admiral Sakazuki growled as he pushed her back and blasted his magna power toward her. She manages to jumped away and attacked him again. Then Sakazuki manage to injure her shoulder as she screams out in pain. Fire is one thing but magma is in a whole different temperature. She didn’t use coat of haki all the way up her shoulder as it almost burned away her left arm off. Then someone spring past her, fire and all!

“Ace!” Evolet shouted as Ace use his full devil fruit power and punch the Admiral. But he was quickly out burned as he flew off with his arm severely burned.

“You were overconfident because you ate a Logia, the mightiest of all Devil Fruits, right? You are merely fire. I am magma, that which will burn even flames! There is an enormous gap between your strength and mine!” Admiral Sakazuki said as he glared at Ace who struggle to get back up. Evolet quickly got up to stand between the two of them.

“Your fight is with me, chihuaua! Jinbei! Get over here so you can carry my unconscious Godson away from here. He clearly still too stubborn to listen to a simple order!” Evolet said as she rolled her newly healed shoulder.

“Ace!” Luffy gasped as he stumbles down to the ground. Ace Vivre Card started to float away from Luffy.

“Hey, Luffy-kun! You’ve reached your limit!”

“Ace’s Vivre Card…” Luffy pants as he reaches over to the sliding card.

“The Pirate King, Gold Roger. Dragon the Revolutionary. These two men’s sons being step-brothers is quite a frightening thought. Even more when they are under your guardianship of the Dragoness. Your fate has been decided! Regardless of who else gets away, I swear to never let you two escape! Now, take a good look…” Evolet gasped as she looks where he was looking as he move to kill Luffy.

“No!” Evolet shouted as she run toward Luffy. She manages to make it in time and used her body to block his attack. Luffy look up at her in a deep state of shock as the magma fist went through her. She smiles through the extreme pain as she looks down to Luffy. She was going to tell him that everything was going to be ok. He was going to be safe, Ace is going to escape with him. Everything was going to be-

Then she notices something. She notices the bright red beads scattered all around Luffy. She notices fresh blood being coughed up behind her spilled on her shoulder and back. A dark sense of dread came across her as she slowly peers over her shoulder to see the very thing she never thought it would happen.

“Ace…”
